Bath VA Medical Center Visitor Information

Visiting Rules and Guidelines
Your family and friends are welcome to visit you at the Medical Center. Visiting hours are between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. every day. Lounge areas are available throughout the Medical Center. Please ask a staff member for the nearest location. TVs and reading materials have been placed in these areas for your enjoyment.

Some precautions may be necessary because of the risk of infection to both visitors and patients. We ask that visits be kept short and that guests are respectful of all patients. Patients in the Intensive Care Unit are normally limited to one or two visitors for no more than 15 minutes at a time. Special arrangements may be made through your nurse manager. Visitors are not to bring food or beverages to patients without permission from staff members. Visitors are asked not to eat in patient rooms. Domiciliary patients may have visitors in common areas such as section lounges. Visits should not interfere with programming/appointments.

Parking
Parking areas are designated for visitors, employees, volunteers, outpatients and the handicapped. Please obey the posted signs and ground painted symbols. Inpatients are requested to keep their cars at home. If this is not possible, VA police should be notified. Domiciliary patients need clearance through their treatment team to have a vehicle on station. The speed limit on the Medical Center grounds is 20 mph. The VA police enforce all regulations and will issue warnings and tickets to drivers who violate the rules.

Hoptel Hospitality Suite
The VeterInn is located on the fourth floor of the hospital. It is available for overnight lodging for veterans and families on a first-come first-serve basis. The Veter Inn was developed to provide accommodations for veterans who travel a long distance and don't have transportation readily available. Veterans who are awaiting transportation to another facility or their return home also find it very helpful. Family members of hospitalized veterans use it to be nearby during times of serious illness or for a visit when patients have prolonged periods of absence. Questions regarding use of the Veter Inn may be answered by calling (607) 664- 4000 extension 42579.

Greeters
Volunteer and staff greeters (identified by their maroon vest) are located in the hospital lobby Monday through Friday. They will be happy to assist you with directions and getting answers to many of the questions you may have. Maps are available upon request.
